Dream Treasures
In a small village lived two farmers, Bhola and Chatura, who were as
different as night and day. Bhola, a kind and honest man, lived simply, was
content with his earnings, and was beloved by the village. Chatura, however,
was selfish, greedy, and known for his cruelty. Wealthy from charging high
interest on loans, he refused to help others, caring only about his gain.
One day, the two met, and Chatura mentioned a dream where the god of wealth,
Kubera, circled him. Bhola, amazed, shared that he, too, had dreamed of Kubera.
They dismissed it as coincidence and parted ways.
A month later, Bhola discovered a pot of gold coins while working in his
field. Believing it to be Kubera’s gift to Chatura, he honestly informed him of
the find. Thrilled and thinking Bhola foolish, Chatura rushed to claim the pot
but found it filled with scorpions instead of gold. Furious, he decided to get
revenge on Bhola.
That night, Chatura sneaked into Bhola’s house, dropping the pot down the
roof, hoping to cause harm. To his shock, Bhola and his wife discovered the pot
filled with real gold coins. Bhola was overjoyed, feeling blessed by Kubera and
eager to use the wealth to help others.
The next morning, Chatura, expecting disaster, was shocked to find Bhola
happily sharing his good fortune with the villagers. Realizing Kubera had
blessed Bhola instead, Chatura was left to curse his own greed, while Bhola’s
genuine kindness had brought him true treasure.
