Sri Rama Krishna, a great saint of India was born in 1836. He became a temple priest at an early age. He spent all his time in the service of Kali, the Divine Mother. He worshipped her with devotion. He led a hard life and often went without food and water. Once he remained in samadhi for six months.

Though a Hindu, he studied the truth in other religions. He lived the life of a pious Muslim and said prayers five times a day. He also lived the life of a Christian. Then he studied the teachings of Buddha, Mahavira and Sikh Gurus. At last, he came to understand that all religions taught the same truth and led to the same goal.
